Otaku Island staff asks that members read the rules at least once before posting to get an idea of what is appropriate conduct in our community and what is not, as well as expecting basic forum etiquette be used by you and others.
1. Age
Otaku Island's website and forum are intended for users 13+ and allows light cursing and anime/manga that is intended for people 13+ and above. However, NSFW (Not safe for work) content is not allowed whether it be the series (I.E. anime/manga in the genres of Ecchi or Hentai.) or talk in things such as RP topics or threads.
2. Spam
The spamming of topics or threads will not be tolerated by staff. Spam is disruptive and can be quite annoying to other users, so please be advised of this. Please avoid doubleposting where possible and do not flood topics or threads with unnecessary things like multiple posts of keyspamming/keysmashing. Please use keyspam/keysmash in moderation.
3. Advertisement
You may link sites where appropriate, such as in topics/threads where relevant or in signatures to other website profiles, as well as link specific profiles in the Fan Work board when pertaining to your own profiles on websites containing your creative works. I.E. Advertising for things like health products is not allowed, and/or other such Off Topic forums is frowned upon.
4. Off Topic Discussion
Off Topic discussion is to be kept to the appropriate board meant for such. Topics and threads are to be kept on topic and used for the sections they were provided for (I.E. don’t use the "General Anime Discussion" thread for talking about something like a reality TV show.).
5. Harassment
Harassment is not tolerated on Otaku Island. Otaku Island is a forum for users of all walks of life and harassment and abuse of users is not acceptable and you will be given the appropriate warnings. If you are found to be doing this more than once, your account will be terminated by moderation and, depending on the severity, IP banned.
6. Ban Evasion
If you are found to be ban evading via things such as creating sockpuppet accounts, you will be issued an IP ban for the accounts used in said evasion.
